Snap into a Slim Jim, OH YEAH!

Okay, okay, two blogs in one day, but being as how I recently blogged about my former love of wrestling, and today wrestling lost one of its greats, I had to write really quick. Word of his death spread pretty quickly around here, considering I live in central Florida.

CLEARWATER | The professional wrestler known as Randy "Macho Man" Savage has died in a car crash in Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol says in a crash report that the 58-year-old former wrestler — whose legal name is Randy Mario Poffo — was driving a Jeep Wrangler when he lost control in Pinellas County around 9:25 a.m. The Jeep veered over the raised concrete median divider, crossed over the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a tree.
Police say he may have suffered a medical event" before the accident, but the report did not elaborate, and it said officials would need to perform an autopsy to know for sure.
Savage's brother told E! Online that his brother suffered a heart attack behind the wheel.
The report confirms that the driver was the pro wrestler known as Randy Savage. A woman in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The news of this saddened me today. I was a fan of all the old school wrestlers, Hulk, Macho, Shawn Michaels, Sting, & Bret Hart.

My prayers are with the family, and all of his loved ones. May he rest in peace.

My couponing trip & a popcorn treat

Yesterday I attempted my first "extreme couponing" trip. It was a small trip, but successful. I saved 85%. I got $20 worth of goodies for $2.78. I organized some coupons the night before and went in knowing exactly what I wanted. I went to Publix and used two printable coupons($1 off) for the Ronzoni Quick Cook pasta. The pasta was BOGO $1.29 so I bought one for $1.29 and got one free. So, my total for four boxes was $2.78, minus my two coupons at $1 off each, I left Publix paying .78 cents for 4 boxes of pasta. I went to Target and used three coupons on the John Freida Shampoo and Conditioner. I used a printable from the target website for $3 off any TWO John Freida products and then I used two $3 off manufacturer coupons from a Sunday paper Smart Source coupon booklet. I also had two manufacturer coupons for the Sensodyne toothpaste, I ended up paying a total 0f $2.09 at Target for the shampoo, conditioner and two tubes of toothpaste. Not bad considering ONE bottle of the shampoo itself is $4.99 and I got it ALL for $2.09
My goodies :)

So yeah, I was pretty happy with my first attempt at couponing! 85% not bad at all.

Now this next part of the blog is going to be a bit random, but I wanted to share one of my weird, yet good not healthy treats with ya'll. Who hasn't had a craving of sweet and salty at the same time? Well, when I get that craving (like I did a few nights ago when these pictures were taken), I make a popcorn treat. I pop my salty buttery popcorn, and then, prepare yourselves, as it sounds nasty, but then, I drizzle honey and chocolate syrup over it, and no, I am not pregnant! I've been making this for years. It's actually very tasty, so don't knock it til you try it.

Also, on a side note, I am trying to spruce up my blog a little bit, so you will notice new sections coming to the top. So far I've added an about me section, as well as Mr. & Mrs. This tells you a little bit more about me, and my life outside of this wonderful blog world. I also added 365 - a project I am participating in, in which you upload one photo each day. The end result is your world via pictures for an entire year. Oh, and I added 4Paws4Love which is a group me and three friends founded back in 2005. I am the only one that is still actively involved in continuing 4paws4love, as it is my passion and I plan to keep evolving it. Hope you enjoy!

Stay tuned, as I have a few more wedding related blogs that I need to get up. More pictures to come from my perfect day.

Oh yeah, and tomorrow I am beachin' it with a great group of friends. Me & some friends decided instead of doing our usual young adults fellowship at church, why not go to the beach? We will have some fun in the sun, hopefully I will have pictures to share soon! I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

XOXO

Hair Help Thursday

I need some hair advice. I'm ready for a hair change. So the debate is on, short/long?, bangs/no bangs?, high lights/ no lights? What do you think?

PS - I was happy to see my hair grows pretty quickly in a year, as it was fairly short when I got engaged in February 2010, and much longer when I got married last month. A year made a world of difference.

Anyways, help, please. Leave opinions in the comments :)

Natural Color Short VS Long

Bangs?

Different colors?

Different Cuts?

I just don't know.
What do YOU think?

One month of married life :)

It's official! I've been married one month one month AND one day :)
WE DID IT! Knucks!
Being married is such a wonderful blessing. How awesome is Our God? He led me to my perfect person, the love of my life, my best friend. I love that I will forever be not only his wife, but his help mate.

The first month of marriage was super busy! We moved all of R's things to my house, so we are now living together (which means finding creative ways to store all of our things). We also went on our honeymoon; we sailed to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay & Nassau Bahamas. So relaxing. It was hard to come back to the reality of finalizing his move, and going back to the working grind. I still have plenty that needs to be done on my end, all the name change stuff. Who would have thought it'd be SO much? Social Security office, drivers license office, bank information, oh my! I now understand why some women don't change their names. Geez. But it's so worth it. I am proud to be the new Mrs. B :) I will just be happy when things wind down just a bit more. We have a date night Friday night, and I can't wait!

I want to not only please my husband, but more importantly God. I will always strive to be a Proverbs 31 type of woman. Thanks to Mandy at She Breathes Deeply because she already had Proverbs 31 typed up, so I could simply copy and paste!

Proverbs 31

10 Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
       11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.
15 She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.
       16 She considers a field and buys it;
From her profits she plants a vineyard.
17 She girds herself with strength,
      And strengthens her arms.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
       22 She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.
       25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
       28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “ Many daughters have done well,
      But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.

a special Christmas present

A text from my sister last night reminded me of a special gift I sent her for Christmas in 2009.

The text simply said: Making cheese garlic biscuits! :) <3

You see, in 2009 I sent my sister who lives in Kansas a recipe box, full of recipes on cute index cards that were hand written. That's a lot coming from me, I am not a fan of hand writing anything, and to boot, I have the hand writing of a doctor. It's horrible! Regardless of my feelings over writing stuff, I wrote out numerous recipes and placed them in a recipe box for her. I wish I'd taken pictures of it, because it was such a good, personal, gift idea; perfect for any cook in your life.

It was especially meaningful because not only did I send her some of my favorite recipes, but some of our mothers' (whom she never met after she was placed for adoption before she was a year old) as well. So, with her being miles away from me, having these recipes are a way to incorporate me into her kitchen and every day life. :)

SHE LOVED IT!

I figured I'd post the recipe from the above text here today:

Cheesy Garlic Biscuits (like Red Lobster)

Ingredients for biscuits:
4 cups of Bisquick mix
1 cup of milk
1 cup of cheddar cheese

Ingredients for glazed topping:
3/4 stick of butter
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp of parsley

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix your biscuit batter, drop spoonfuls of batter onto a buttered cooking pan. Melt your butter in the microwave. Add your powders to the butter, brush over the batter mix that's on pan. Garnish tops of biscuits with parsley. Bake in oven for 10-12 minutes. Quirk this recipe to your liking. :)

Wedding Pics - Rings, Flowers, Dress, and getting ready

Happy Monday my friends :)

WARNING: Photo heavy blog.

It looks like I will have to do the same thing my photographer did, and create multiple blog posts with the wedding pictures, because there are just WAY too many. I am so incredibly blessed with an abundance of pictures from my wedding day. Those of you that know me, know how important photography is to me. It is one thing that can last as long as your vows, the food and the flowers will long be forgotten, but your vows, those are forever and your photography theoretically should be as well. They are the memories that are captured on film, that can be passed on for many generations, from kids to grand kids to great grand kids. Ah, I am a sentimental freak. :)

Anyways, here we go with part one. Rings, Flowers, dress, and getting ready.

Let me just say that my wedding day was truly perfect. Surprisingly, it was stress free and that is exactly how I had wanted it. No drama, no break downs, just laughter and smiles. Thank you Lord for a perfect Florida day. And thank you for the butterfly that I saw right when I walked up to my venue. It was nice knowing my Mom was right there. I felt her presence as soon as I walked in, and I knew everything would be okay.

Okay, Okay, now the photo's.

Rings

Dress

Shoes - yup. I wore flats

LOVE this one. Dress hanging over the arch where we said our vows

We're ready

Mascara - woohoo, my mouth wasn't fully open

one of my best friends and bridesmaid did my makeup
How many girls does it take to get a dress on?!

AND, it's on!

Lacing me up

Time for shoes

Putting the garter on

Leukemia wrist band.

* Note - I wore my orange wrist band on my ankle as I got the wrist band in '07 when a dear friend of mine was diagnosed with Leukemia and have not taken it off since. We had the bands made in Orange, the color for Leukemia, and it says Faith, Courage, Hope, Strength and has her name engraved on the inside. That friend, along with one of my bridesmaids are in remission from Leukemia so the cause is very near to my heart. I couldn't NOT wear it, so it went on the ankle.

Hope you've enjoyed the pics. More to come soon.

Sniffley Sunday.

What I thought was a severe case of allergies yesterday appears to actually be a cold. This is not good on so many levels:

1. I am a huge baby when I get sick
2. When I have head colds, I get really off balance as I already have horrible coordination from back and neck problems, but when my ears are popping, and my head is all stuffy, it's worse.
3. When I get sick, I get sick. I spent the ENTIRE month of July 2010 SICK. Literally, no joke, from July 1st, through the end of the month, with the lingering cough going on through part of August as it moved to my chest and effected my asthma.

So yeah, I am really hoping this is just a small cold, and that I will bounce back and be feeling better in no time. I'm sure my immunity got down last week due to lack of sleep as I actually worked some overtime (usually I am lucky to get 25-30 hours a week). As for today, I am vitamin-C-n up, and about to eat an Edy Antioxidant Popsicle. They are a new addiction that I buy with each grocery trip.

On a side note, me and some girlfriends saw Something Borrowed last night. I am a huge Kate Hudson fan so any new movie with her is a must see. It didn't disappoint. Kate's character was a bit annoying, but I still enjoyed the movie, and the time with my friends, AND it was a chick flick and I didn't cry. That's surprising! Actually wait, there was a moment that I teared up. But not a full out cry fest.

Welp, I've got four small dogs pawing at my feet, and I am going to relax and catch up on biggest loser. Here's to a happy Monday for each and every one of you tomorrow.

XOXO
