Wedding Pics - Portraits & Bridal Party

WARNING: Photo Heavy Blog

Okay, Okay.... after almost a month, I'm back with some more wedding pics :) Sorry for the delay! As most of you know, I am breaking my wedding photography into parts as to not completely flood my blog at once with photo's. Today is the 2nd installment: pre ceremony, group shots of the bridesmaids and grooms men. The poor groom was locked in a windowless kitchen for over an hour while the bride and her 'maids were out and about frolicking for photo's. He didn't seem to mind though. If you missed the first set, click here to see rings, flowers, dress and getting ready.

Shopping Trip Observations

HI FRIENDS! I had to show off my shirt I found at my own yardsale over the weekend. It formerly belonged to my friend J :)

I just came back from Walmart, and as always am a little annoyed. Shopping at Publix is so much more pleasurable. I guess that's why their slogan is "where shopping IS a pleasure". Anyways, back to Walmart. My Walmart has been undergoing some MAJOR renovations over the last two months. Enough so that I had to avoid it some weeks. The entire store was tore apart and rearranged. When I went back today, everything is MUCH better, though since a lot of stuff got moved, I am now lost as I look for "regular" items that I buy there. For the most part, I got out of their unscathed. I found everything I needed.

Though going inside I was a bit annoyed as I watched people driving around aimlessly looking for a closer parking spot. Seriously people? Unless you have a health issue or disability that prevents you from walking, I don't think it's going to hurt you to park 5 spots farther back. I can almost bet that it will actually help you. A little cardio friends. :P

Then, leaving, I was even more dismayed to find that someone had left TWO carts in the parking spot with my car. What blows my mind is I was parked literally two spots from a return area. It was my car, then another car, then the cart return area. REALLY?! I mean really!? Don't leave your cart next to a car where it could potentially scratch or dent the car, just walk it two spaces over. Again, this excludes those limited by health or disability but what's crazy is I will see someone with an oxygen tank and a cane return a cart before I will see a twenty something that's in a hurry return one. Unbelievable, I know!  I understand that we all most of us over book ourselves and are in a constant rush from activity to activity, however it's the small things that that add up and make changes. Just take that extra moment to return your cart. :)

But anyways, that's enough of my walmart observations. Let me just say how thrilled I am that I finally got a bit of grocery shopping out of the way, so I shouldn't have to eat out at all this weekend. Here's to home cooked meals.

Speaking of, I made shrimp fettuccine alfredo yesterday. It was DELISH! I also made some squash on the side. Mhm good! And no garlic bread! I figured the pasta was more than enough. And I've been having fresh home made salads for lunch this week. I feel SO much better!!

Reminder: It's almost Friday again! Time for Fabulous Friday! I just took over running it for Laura over at Between the Lines. Read the basis of it HERE with my first post from last friday. I only had two people link up last week and am hoping more of you will participate and get the word out this week. Come on, we all have something fabulous going on, right? :)

Mileage for thought.

Sometimes I really do wonder if the odometer on my car might not be tracking properly.

Here's my reasoning - me and two of my girlfriends all happened to get our new cars in October of 2005.

When S got her car, it had 6,700 miles on it. It currently has 111,574 miles on it. Two trips to Miami is the farthest her car has seen, and of course, being in Florida, random beach trips here and there. She also drives 40ish miles to and from work 5 days a week. To me, I'd think she's driven MORE than me simply because of her daily commute to and from work.

When H got her car it had 15 miles on it. It currently has 84,855. Now, THIS is what blows my mind. Waaaait for itttttt. H went to college in Pensacola and has driven her baby to and from PCola numerous times, driven from PCola to Ohio, then Ohio to Lakeland, and once from Lakeland to Kentucky, then back to PCola. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! That to me is  A LOT of driving.

Then you have my blue mobile. It had 2 miles on it when I bought it. Currently has 110,000. HELLO! That's 25,000 MORE miles than my friend who has driven to various states with her car. My car has NEVER left the state of Florida. My commute to work is LESS than S's 40 miles a day, plus I work less days a week than her. The farthest my car has seen was a Miami trip as well. I have taken my car on many a beach trip, as well as commuting back and forth to Orlando and Tampa  a lot when my cousin was in the hospital numerous times between 2007-current. I do a lot of INNER city driving, between the North and South side of our town, which I guess truly does add up. It just seems so off to me.

But anyways, yeah, there's your mileage for thought today. :D

Over eating (out)

This past weekend I ate horribly. I am almost ashamed to list the places I ate out at. Here's what I can remember:
  1. Chili's soup and salad
  2. McDonald's breakfast Friday & Sunday, and a midnight snack Friday night
  3. Beef O Brady's
  4. Buffalo Wild Wings
  5. Doughnuts from Krispy Creme & Dunkin
  6. Outback Steakhouse

I feel like complete poo now. What you eat really does effect how you feel.

Part of the problem is I desperately need to go grocery shopping. I can't commit to NOT eating out if I don't have food in the house.

Another part of the problem is I am horrible with peer pressure when it comes to food. If my hubs is eating something unhealthy yet amazing, like, pizza, that's what I want. Why would I want grilled chicken and asparagus is pizza is ready and waiting for me? I have to get better at that. He metabolizes stuff differently than me, therefore he can eat a few slices of pizza and not be effected the same way I am.

This is SO important to me not because I want to look different, but for health reasons. I am perfectly happy with my size, BUT I actually need to lose at least 10lbs to become a better weight for my health reasons. I need to shed some of the weight to take pressure off my spine, due to the Spondylolisthesis and scoliosis. I'm annoyed because during the madness and rush pre wedding, I lost almost 10lbs without even trying, and I am pretty sure over the last few weekends I've gained at least half of it back. Grrr...

So, I've GOT to get to that grocery store and stock up before this weekend. I refuse to eat out this weekend. I can only imagine the money we'd save if we ate at home more. We are really bad with eating out, and I can admit that.

Sorry for the Monday vent fest, but I had to get that off my chest. I am just overly annoyed at how horribly I ate this weekend. BUT, I had a fresh salad for lunch today, and it was DELISH!!!

On a happier note, I added some new stuff to my Shop my Closet page. If you are a Tim Burton fan be sure to check it out, I have a few Nightmare before Christmas items. :)

Oh, and if you read my post on Saturday, go back to see yet another funny picture added. :) My friend J rocking some googly eyes. They texted me the pic yesterday. She helped run the yard sale on Saturday while I helped run the car wash at a different location. Two events in one day! That's how we do it.

8 weeks to a better me: Week 6, Home sweet Home

This is my 2nd week joining in with 8 Weeks to a better me over at Sometimes Sweet. I'll give you a quick recap of how I did with last weeks goals before moving on to this week. Last week was loving life and having fun and my goals were: take time to enjoy the small things more, not to say one negative thing about anyone, and do myself up more  (ie, makeup). I did okay with my goals. The first was easy, and I tackled that... I enjoyed some cloud watching this week. The second I could have done better on. Saddens me to say that, but we all battle keeping our negative thoughts to ourselves at some point. Third one I did half the week, the days I went to work I wore make-up. And I enjoyed it. I feel prettier when I wear it BUT my problem is I am quite lazy and don't take the time to do it on a regular basis, mostly special occasions.

This weeks topic is home sweet home and how to make a house a home. You should definitely head over and check out Danielle's guest blogger on this topics post. I found it really inspiring. She made a lot of really good points. I am excited to tackle some of my goals this week, as I am NOT at all a fan of clutter, however it always seems to find it's way into my house. Maybe because I live with my husband and two other people? Anyways, let's get to this weeks goals:

1. One of the tips Mandi gave us was to not keep anything we didn't love. I have already started to tackle this with my closet, but I have so much more I need to go through. I've kept a lot of random things from over the years, especially high school years, and they really have no function anymore. Do I need them, or will I ever need them again? Probably not, so I will continue to rifle through all my stored away stuff and get rid of more and more things I don't need. My junk is surely another woman's treasures. :)

2. Another tip was to tackle one project at a time as if you do much more than that, you will overwhelm yourself. SO, my job this week is to tackle my computer desk. Papers are constantly thrown up here. It's so disorganized. It's kind of organized chaos I guess you would say.

3. Organize my crafty stuff. I have high hopes of creating some wonderful scrapbooks from my recent wedding. I have stuff strewn everywhere at this moment though, and if I leave it that way, there's a very good chance it will stay that way and never get done. So, this week I will gather all my scrapbooking stuff together, in a more organized effort, and slowly get started with my wedding scrapbook. :) I also have a friendship scrapbook in the works.

Here's to a great week everyone! Good luck with your goals!

Yard sale & Car wash fun

This weekend has been quite exhausting. I hosted a yard sale on Friday and today at my house, and booked a car wash at a local restaurant for today as well.

The yard sale was put together and ran by myself and six of my best girl friends. We gather all our stuff that we no longer have need for, compile it at my house, and host a yard sale yearly around this time to help us raise money to pay for our annual vacation. I think I've blogged about it before, every August, we go to AMI for a nice little weekend getaway. We go on the weekend of the anniversary of my mothers death, and it gives me something to look forward to on what would otherwise be a sad weekend. By raising money from the yard sale, it cuts our costs that we have to chip in individually. It looks like after this car wash each girl should be paying no more than $30 each for a weekend getaway. You CANT beat that.

The car wash I actually booked for my brother in law and some of my friends from church. It was to raise funds for a missions trip to Nicaragua they are taking in July. I am so excited for them. I can't wait to see pictures and hear stories. We had a bit of a situation as we arrived at the location for the car wash this morning. It appeared they had overbooked us. There was already someone there setting up for another wash. This was a bit annoying to me as I called to confirm two different times in the last three weeks, and each time they read me the name of my church and said we were good to go. I guess the other group had been scheduled for a wash a week or two before and had been canceled because of remodeling the location was going through, and they had been rescheduled and confused the dates. Either way, it all worked out, the other group was a church as well, and very understanding, they bid us well and even donated to our wash. How sweet.

I was sure to snap various pictures for your entertainment of the two events. Warning: the ones of the yard sale are quite hilarious scary.

SO, that was MY weekend so far. I hope yours was just as entertaining. :)

FABULOUS FRIDAY! :)

**Note: The link up part will be up soon, having problems getting it to work. Please come back later today to link up**

I am very VERY excited to be taking over Fabulous Friday's from Laura over at Between The Lines as she is in need of a much deserved break from blogging.

If you haven't yet participated in a Fabulous Friday, it's very simple:
What did you find to be fabulous this past week? Currently? In general? You can include just text, you can include just photos, you can include photos and descriptions, a little of everything - totally up to you. This isn't a photo challenge, it's just a fun, weekly chance to talk about fabulous things going on in your life. :)

If you'd like an example, you can check out one of Laura's previous Fabulous Friday posts by clicking HERE.

I hope you will grab a button and join in on praising all the fabulous things going on in your world.

My fabulous things this week?

My husband bought me the three things above. I LOVE them. They were 50% off at the Family Christian Bookstore. The first one, that says Faith, I plan to take and leave out at my mom's plot at the cemetery <3 The 2nd one, that says Faith: makes things possible, not easy, I plan to hang inside, and the third one has already got use every night since it was bought. I drink hot tea nightly as I get ready for bed. This cup is just fabulous! and perfect for me :)

Girly time - Me & 4 of my favorite ladies got to have some impromptu quality time together when we headed to Outback for dinner Thursday night. It was impromptu because we had planned to just set up for a yard sale we are having to help us raise money for an annual weekend beach trip we take yearly (yes, we raise money via a sale so we each pay way less PP than we'd had to otherwise). Anyways, one of my friends, offered to use a $50 GC she had which allowed us each $10 off our bill. SO awesome. This was beyond fabulous. It's not often most of the gang can get together.

This past weekend was beyond Fabulous. It was the first one in a long time that my husband had off. We didn't do much, and that was just fine with me. We did have a date night one night in which we saw Fast Five, and ate at Carrabbas - his first time.

My back - Last week I was having major issues with my Spondylolisthesis, and major back pain because of it. This week, while I am not 100%, I do feel MUCH better, and THAT is fabulous to me.

Couponing. The more I learn about it, the more fabulous it becomes!

Rain - It rained yesterday. Not nearly long enough, but any rain right now is good!

Those are a few of the fabulous things going on in my neck of the woods. How about yourself? What fabulous things do YOU have going on? Be sure to link up!
